EchoVision AI Smart Glasses for Blind & Low Vision

I love these smart glasses! They have helped me regain access to the visual world that blindness took from me three years ago.

I had some trouble understanding them at first. They were so different than the consumer smart glasses I had been using for a few years. As the beta cycle progressed I realized they had way more power and precision for a blind person.

There are too many benefits to list quickly, so here are my top three:

1. Reading mode. The ability to read printed pages has given me back one of my most favorite things. I am am going to bookstores again! I can browse books. Read the back cover description and even the first few pages!
2. Silent operation. My old glasses were voice controlled. This led to the unfortunate problem that people thought I was talking to them. “What O I was talking to my glasses.” Now I can trigger a scene dexription or read a menu without speaking. This has allowed me to discretely “see” what is happening during social events and feel more connected to them.
3. The App. It is sraight forward and easy to use and navigate. The user guide is clear, concise, and can be navigated by headings!

There are so many other wonderful features of these glasses (like the USB-C charging port built right into them) and the developers willignness to listen to the needs of the blind community.

My previous smart glasses let me take pictures and describe scenery. My Agiga smart glasses let me live actively and confidently in a dark world.

I have been totally blind since birth, and have used these wonderful glasses since last december. The level of independence they've given me is incredible. With the reading mode feature I have been able to read multiple books on my bookshelf In print of all sizes, read my iPad screen when studying which cut down on the amount of time it took me to navigate the screen with voiceover, pick out birthday cards, participate in holiday activities and even read menus at restaurants. The AI mode is a big help as well. I have tested this at my church when walking a route from one place to another and it has accurately described everything in my environment. I can’t recommend these wonderful glasses enough.

I have been using prerelease versions of the EchoVision glasses and their Android companion app for many months. I am very impressed with the product. I am even more impressed with AGIGA. They have demonstrated a genuine interest in understanding their target market, the Blind and Low Vision community. They have done a great job of responding to feedback from their users and they continue to do so. Reading mode is far better than any other solutions out there. Likewise, their Live AI really addresses my needs. The various forms of Scene Description and Q&A mode continue to be honed to maximize their value to the BLV community. I am excited to watch and participate in the on-going evolution of the EchoVision glasses.

I’ve been using these glasses since December. They become more impressive with each update. Agiga is very responsive to users’ comments and suggestions. The Reading Mode is a big plus for reading mail and other things independently. The AI is becoming more accurate with each update. I like it that these glasses are designed for and by our blind and low vision community. I highly recommend!
