EchoVision Wish List: Calls, Aira and Be My Eyes
Last updated:
Phone calls and video calls with Aira, Be My Eyes and other people.
Part of the EchoVision Wish List. See also how we decide on ideas.
5 ideas: 1 in progress, 1 under review, 1 not planned and 2 released.
In progress
CALL-01: Noise cancellation on calls
- Status: In progress. Please tell us about your noisiest situations.
- What owners asked: Is there any possibility of implementing any type of noise cancellation for the microphone before v1.0?
Under review
CALL-05: Mute or turn off the camera during a Be My Eyes call
- Status: Under review. Today a Be My Eyes call can only be ended from the glasses, with a double tap. Adding mute and camera controls depends on what Be My Eyes allows.
- What owners asked: Are you going to implement audio notification for video on/off or audio muted/unmuted as is done in LiveAI mode?
- Related: CALL-02: Hear when the camera or microphone turns on or off during calls
Not planned
CALL-04: Use the glasses' camera in FaceTime, WhatsApp or Messenger
- Status: Not planned. Not possible for now, because iPhone limits other apps' access to the camera.
- What owners asked: Could I use the glasses' camera on FaceTime, WhatsApp or Messenger video calls with family and friends?

Released
CALL-02: Hear when the camera or microphone turns on or off during calls
- Status: Released. In Live AI, a single tap on the touchpad mutes or unmutes the microphone, and the glasses say "Muted" or "Unmuted". In an Aira call, a single tap mutes or unmutes the microphone and a long press turns the camera on or off, and the glasses announce each change; see Touchpad Sensor (left arm) in the user guide. Muting or turning off the camera during a Be My Eyes call is now a separate idea, CALL-05.
- What owners asked: Are you going to implement audio notification for video on/off or audio muted/unmuted as is done in LiveAI mode?

CALL-03: Call my Be My Eyes groups
- Status: Released. Calling your Be My Eyes groups, including calling a group by name, added in September 2026.
- What owners asked: Do you agree with trying to implement an interface to personal groups established in BeMyEyes … for v1.0 … or ever?
