EchoVision Wish List: General

Last updated:

Power, connections, voice, controls and other things that apply everywhere.

Part of the EchoVision Wish List. See also how we decide on ideas.

19 ideas: 2 in testing, 3 in progress, 9 under review, 1 not planned and 4 released.

In testing

GEN-04: A wake word

  • Status: In testing. Available to beta testers now, with an on/off setting so it stays optional. Coming to everyone once false triggers are fixed.
  • What owners asked: Are you hoping to implement a wake word/phrase to be able to initiate various functions hands-free by version 1.0? Also, please confirm this will be optional.

GEN-05: Recognize people I know

  • Status: In testing. Face recognition for people is in beta since June 2026. Pets and objects aren't supported yet.
  • What owners asked: Are you working on a between-sessions "memory" for the glasses where I can train it to recognize my husband/daughter/friend/dog/pet raccoon?
  • Related: SCENE-03: Add people to face recognition from my photos

In progress

GEN-02: Use Bluetooth when Wi-Fi or the hotspot isn't working

GEN-08: Change what buttons and gestures do

  • Status: In progress. First step shipped in October 2026: a setting for how the AI button behaves. More flexible gestures are being explored. Common asks: a left/right swap for guide-dog handlers, and a button shortcut to call Aira or Be My Eyes.
  • What owners asked: What are the thoughts, if any, on allowing customizeable re-mapping of different buttons or touchpad gestures? (e.g. if we don't plan on taking pictures or videos, it would be nice to be able to re-map the 1x & 2x press of the power button for other actions.)

GEN-15: Some features without internet

Under review

GEN-06: Turn off after a set time without use

  • Status: Under review. We need more details from you. By design, the glasses go into power saving after inactivity.
  • What owners asked: Could we have a configurable option to have the glasses power down after xx amount of inactivity i.e. 1 hr, 2 hrs, etc.? (If we forget to power them down and sit them somewhere overnight, not charging, they can lose a fair % of battery capacity; sometimes even to 0.)

GEN-07: Transit times in more cities

  • Status: Under review. We need more details from you: which city, and what you asked when it didn't work.
  • What owners asked: There seems to be transportation info integration (i.e. next bus time) in some cities, but not mine? Is this U.S. only? Major cities only?

GEN-09: Control the glasses by voice

GEN-10: Choose the AI voice and how fast it speaks

  • Status: Under review. Speed can already be changed in the companion app, under Settings > Audio > Speech speed, from 1.0X (the default) up to 2.0X; see Audio in the user guide. Choosing the voice is still under review.
  • What owners asked: Could we choose the AI voice (for example male, British or more natural) and how fast it speaks?
  • Related: GEN-17: Speech slower than the default speed

GEN-11: A simpler mode and a practice mode

  • Status: Under review.
  • What owners asked: Could there be a simpler mode for people new to technology, plus a practice mode that tells you what each button does without doing it?

GEN-13: Other languages

GEN-17: Speech slower than the default speed

GEN-18: Glasses' feedback time limit expansion

  • Status: Under review. Today you can already send detailed written feedback, with no time limit, from the app under Settings > Support > Send Feedback, or by email to AGIGA support; see Support in the user guide and our Contact page. A longer recording from the glasses is under review.
  • What owners asked: Currently, when I press the AI Action button five times to submit feedback through the glasses, the recording is limited to 60 seconds. This isn't enough time for me to explain many technical issues or feature requests. Even when I prepare a relatively short message in advance, I sometimes cannot finish speaking within the 60-second limit, and my feedback may be submitted incomplete. Would AGIGA consider removing this time limit entirely, or at least allowing significantly longer recordings? I'd also appreciate an accessible way to submit detailed written feedback directly through the EchoVision app.

GEN-19: Raise the volume by itself in noisy places

  • Status: Under review.
  • What owners asked: When the surrounding environment gets noisy, it would help if the glasses automatically raised the volume of the audio in the speakers, and lowered it again when things quieten down. The Ray-Ban Meta glasses already do this, and it makes a big difference when walking along busy streets or in crowded places, where Live AI and Reading Mode can be hard to hear.

Not planned

GEN-16: Hear the phone's screen reader and the glasses at once

  • Status: Not planned. Not possible with the current Bluetooth audio hardware.
  • What owners asked: Could I hear my phone's screen reader and the glasses at the same time?

Released

GEN-01: A sound right after pressing power

  • Status: Released. Added in March 2026. After a brief removal, the startup sound was restored in April 2026.
  • What owners asked: Is there any way to have the glasses make any sort of sound earlier after we press the power button before having to wait 30 seconds for them to power up?

GEN-03: Join Wi-Fi networks that need a sign-in page

  • Status: Released. Improved again in June 2026.
  • What owners asked: Where do things stand as far as potentially allowing wifi access to captive networks requiring a password?

GEN-12: Answer general questions from the web

  • Status: Released.
  • What owners asked: Could the glasses answer general questions using the web (news, weather, product manuals), like ChatGPT?

GEN-14: Switch from home Wi-Fi to the phone's hotspot by itself

  • Status: Released. Once you've connected to your phone's hotspot from the app the first time, the glasses switch to it on their own shortly after you leave your home Wi-Fi, as long as the hotspot is on and discoverable.
  • What owners asked: Could the glasses switch automatically from home Wi-Fi to the phone's hotspot when I leave the house?
